Inspired by my personal interactions and photographs of the hummingbirds around my home, each original painting attempts to convey the energy and personality that are as vivid as the colors in their feathers. This piece, entitled "Trumpeteer" was inspired by a trumpet player and my own attempts at learning to play in childhood. The angle of his head, held high, and the swell of his chest reminds me of practicing while standing on the back steps of my rural Indiana farmhouse, "serenading" the livestock and landscape until a lack of time - and talent - sent me in other directions. The joy of making something that COULD be music, when young, fostered the joy of making this unique piece. Finished print size is 10" x 10". Each signed and numbered print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
