Inspired by my personal interactions and attempts at photographing the hummingbirds that I encounter around my home, my paintings convey the energy and personalities that are as vivid as their coloring. This piece, entitled "Shadow Dancing", was inspired by two birds that had spent the afternoon squabbling at the feeder located right outside my studio and as the sun began to set, they rose up as if in a choreographed dance, with the sun streaming through the edges of their wings.
